Recent Changes to Crohnsforum.com

If you haven't visited Crohnsforum.com for awhile, there have been lots of changes over the last few months!

- In mid-May, we implemented a new default forum style. But if you don't like it, don't worry! You can change the look of the forum by choosing from the different styles available in the bottom-left menu at crohnsforum.com.

- Success Stories - We've added a "success stories" subforum. If you haven't visited us because you're busy living the good life as your IBD is in remission, PLEASE come back and share your success story to give others hope. Or if you need some inspiration, this subforum is for you.

- Crohnsforum.com now has a Facebook page: Our Facebook Page -- please "like" us if you do.

We need help!

- Over the last 30 days, more than 70,000 unique visitors have come to crohnsforum.com. We feel it is vitally important that new members feel welcomed and that their story is heard. If you have a spare minute a week, taking the time to welcome just one person in our Your Story forum would be extremely helpful.

Research and Medications

It's hard to keep up with all the new research and news pertaining to IBD. Here are a couple interesting pieces from our Research and News forum.

The "Top Down" approach to treating Crohn's Disease - new findings regarding how to best treat Crohn's Disease.

Fecal Transplants - Yes, it's what you think it is.

Knowledge is Power

The more you know about your disease, the better you can ensure you're receiving optimal care. This month's educational article covers the ileum, that 2-4 meter part of the small intestine tasked with some very important functions. Learn more...

Thank you

Thank you to the countless unsung heroes that make a support forum like crohnsforum.com a success. Without the members out there who are providing answers and support on a daily basis, usually while suffering in one way or another themselves, such a community would not be possible. Thank you so much to each and every one of you. You are truly incredible people.

Humor

We all have those friends, family, or health practitioners who mean well but say things that are unbelievable. A thread popped up on the forum for people to share some of the crazy comments they've heard. A sampling:

"I wish I had the disease. I wouldn't have to worry about my weight."

"If I were on that much Prednisone, I would have refinished your house by now."

"Crohns? What is this?" (from a GI NURSE)

Want to read more? Or do you have a crazy comment to share? If so, please join us in the thread!
