Mastocytic Enterocolitis and EN

Has anyone with ME done EN (Elemental Nutrition)?

If so, did it help?

My GP is still thinking it's ME for my little farm girl and is trying to talk with specialist that have dealt with this kind before.

Or GI says he believes it's not IBD because theirs no blood (first bloody stool two night ago) and she's not on deaths door step yet. I PRAY he's right!!!!

However, tonight over the phone the GP mentioned starting EN for her on Monday.

We're willing but wondering IF anyone else has gone through the same treatment?

Never tried it I tend to do trial and error over the years and trying to add new things that I see help me as in my stool and keep on a checklist. I tend to mix the things that help me and see if they do good or bad and add that to the list then go long term with some items.

Here is more info on the Elemental Nutrition on a thread here: http://www.crohnsforum.com/showthread.php?t=23607

I haven't seen any data on it. But if I had a bad case of Mastocytic Enterocolitis, the first thing I would probably try is a long course of EN in conjunction with the multiple types of antihistamines.
