• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. Newly diagnosed

Hi All,

First, thanks for sharing and supporting one another on this forum. I have been coming to read support here for a long time. I have had the same bum abscesses since 2014, managed barely with Clobatesol and Prednisone. I am married but feel deserted since getting sicker. I have insomnia and am alone and emotional 5-6 nights per week. I keep trying to write my story but I guess I am not ready. So, until then, sincerely thank you for getting me through these nights I am so sick and alone. My health issues go far back, and I want to share with others that may also feel alone - it will get better. You are not alone. I learned that on this support forum without typing a word.

Truly love you all ❤

Welcome!

I have to say I understand you completely. I'm not married, but I live in a share house with some wonderful friends, have for the past 2 years so we are like family. But I find myself withdrawing further away from family and friends because it's too hard. It's all just too hard.
I'm still in the place of not a full diagnosis. It's been 2+ years now and it's getting worse each day. Trying to work and study on top of this illness is so hard, so any socialising or relationships is out of the picture for me. Which sucks at 27...

Sorry to turn this back onto me. I guess I wanted to say that like you, it has taken a long time to share my story, and it's still just been snippets.
I guess because it's an ongoing story, huh? It's hard to share.

And like you, I've only just started posting at this board, but I have been visiting it for a year now and the support I have seen and gotten myself from afar has been invaluable...
Hopefully now we are doing the same for others.

Welcome smada,

I had a decline in my social life around 27, when I first got sick with "IBD," so I get it. The good news is the disease is manageable with the right treatment plan. I'm now 39 and I have found new interests in life, including being a part of a supportive group like this. Don't be scared, the word, "normal" is very relative to the situation. If you feel like you need to talk you can pm me any time. Life isn't over, now it's just a little different.

Welcome again and feel free to chat me up I'm fine with that.

Warm regards,

Chris

Thanks cmack!

For the support but also for the link to that support group. It will definitely be interesting, and helpful to have a read through some similar stories. Especially to see where they are now. :)

Welcome! I've only been on this forum for a couple of days, but these people genuinely care about helping one another. That is rare in today's society. All the best!
