Hi I'm Persian. It's a pleasure

It's a pleasure to meet yall. No pleasure in suffering from Crohn's Disease.

I never heard of the disease until it was super obvious I had the condition. I started with weight loss, gradual at first. Then a rectal abscess creeped up. A general physician treated it. Cut it out, packed it every day despite the pain. Operated on the fistula by cutting it, making me unable to hold to control my bowels for a long time. Things looked better but lost a lot of weight. The area operated on looked like it was healing but then it got infected again.

He recommended a colon/rectal specialist who right away noticed I showed signs of Crohn's disease. I went to a GI who diagnosed me. I still see the Colon/Rectal specialist because I have multiple fistulas in my rectum and is the main source of discomfort.

What a road it has been. I have lost 40 lbs. Cannot gain it back, at least not yet. My appetite is back and my meals eaten to trips to the bathroom ratio is 3:2 which is better when I used to eat twice a day and go to the bathroom 10 times a day.

Hope I haven't ranted too long, but I found this site a while ago and find some comfort in reading yalls stories. It's nice to know there are people out there who can totally relate to what I am going through

I will check it out, I should of put TL;DR at the end of my post

I have problems sitting down. Tissue in my rectum hasn't fully healed yet and it creates a ton of pain for me when I sit down.

I am on Imuran and Humira at the moment. I was on flagyl for the longest time. i got off it and there was an infection scare so my doc put me back on it and this time around my body didnt react kindly to its return. massive stomach ache and I spent the next two days throwing up non stop.

hahaha Im a half Persian born and raised in Houston, Texas. The stereotypical accents you think of from Texans are from West Texas. If I do have an accent well I cant hear it

Oh, that sucks. :(:(:(

I hope the Imuran and Humira do the trick. Keep us posted. Have you seen the Humira Club thread......................

Dusty. :)
Imuran and Humira have helped me because I am in a lot better shape now than I was when I first started. I still have a while to go. my docs keep telling me its a long recovery. my fistulas in my rectum have been draining since 2009 and its honestly the most inconvenient symptom. the stomach cramps are mostly gone, because I have switched to organic meats which sit well in my stomach along with learning what I can and cant eat.

I hope you find an improvement with the Humira and Azathioprine :)
"Never feel guilty for being sick and stop comparing yourself and your life to those who don't have Crohn's. You're doing the best you can under the circumstances and you're doing great.

I love this quote. Someone I know with Crohns also told me never feel guilty for being sick when I asked for advice when I was first diagnosed.
