Chills with flare ups

Hi Guys: Any one else have the chills with flareups?
I get em so bad I have goss pimples all over my body. Taking hot showers and turning up the heat, electric blankets on high, nothing seems to help.

I had this bad when I was in the hospital, but I am pretty sure it was from the major blood loss I had. I was almost cold blooded. Reacted to the temp in extremes. If it was a little hot I had the sweats, and vice versa. I know that probably doesn't help. the only things I know that cause chills are the cold, infection, and I guess blood loss.

Your body is reacting to inflammation/infection. Do you run a high fever? If so, you probably need an antibiotic. Sometimes when bacteria gets into your bloodstream it can cause chills.

I usually get chills. If there is no fever, try to rest as much as possible and drink hot Chamomille and some vitamin C. If there is a fever I advise you to see a doctor. Most probably he will give you antibiotics, but try to get a blood test before that to see if it's a bacterial or viral infection.

Hi,
I get the same i am freezing cold.It doesent matter what i do.I sit next to the fire with a coat on and i am still shaking.I dont have central heating and in the winter the other rooms are to cold for me to go in.I went to the Doc and she said my temp was normal.I do get reacurring bladder and kidney iffections. They can make you feel very cold.Go to the Doc and get tested for a urine infection.I find a glass of hot orange with sweetener in it helps warm you up for a while anyway.

Thanks for the replies. It's nice to be able to share information with people who are in the same boat.

My Support Groups:
Hey Tom.. The 1st time I experienced these, I thought it was either from bloodloss or an infection... And some of them very well could be, so try to track how much blood you are visibly losing, and keep an easy to read thermometer close at hand.. A secondary infection or dramatic increase in bloodloss is something to speak to a doctor about immediately.. Having said all of that, I still have frequent episodes of chills... Before I became ill, I was never one to feel the cold.. Now, my body temp regulator goes on the fritz all of the time, regardless of whether the room temp is A-OK or not. I can now commisserate with women the world over who experience temperature swings while going thru menopause.

It's crazy I know. This happened to me as soon as I woke up and had to go straight to the bathroom. I thought I was going to have a panic attack b ut since I know how to do the breathing exercises to get thru it I did those and as I was "doing my business", I got chills, burning up and down thru out the inside of my body. Crazy feelings I say! Ewww, and the last "movement" was undigested!!! EWWWWW!!!!
