Hi Chantal! :) Welcome to the forum!

Tooth problems are just another thing we Crohnies have to be careful of and deal with. I hope your dentist can fix that up for you!

Fistulas are no fun either. I had internal fistulas in my small intestine. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to deal with something like that in an area that gets used so frequently. ;)

What sort of medications are you on right now? Biologics are supposed to work very well for clearing up fistulas no matter where they are. I've bene on Humira for a year and mine have cleared up. I know anal fistulas can be trickier.

Hope you find some relief soon. There's a ton of info on here and plenty of wonderful people to meet. :)

HI Chantal and welcome!

Sorry you're having such a hard time right now, esp with your gums and that fistula. What meds are you on? There are some, namely the biologics, that can help control fistulas.

Hey girls,
Im on asacol(Mesalazine) 4x 800mg & budenofalk(prednisone) 3x 3mg. Im not on medication for the fistula.

For my teeth in seeing a specialist, shes rly good. It got detected too late kinda, my gum looks perfect, my dentist saw how bad it was when he made an xray for a wisdomtooth which they had to cut out...

And since november im "wearing" a seton thread (not sure about the englush terms) it enters my body between my anus and vagina, and exit through my anus. In May my surgeon will have a look if its ok to remove it savely, or is I need surgery again... The fistula was rly painfull, but its more annoying now, only when I have to go to the toilet a lot, which is a hobby for most of us lol, its gets a bit.painfull... Ang long bike rides are hell..

Hi Chantal! You said it - long bike rides are killer! I used to love riding my bike each day. Now it collects dust. I sure hope that seton can be removed without surgery and you can start feeling better!

I look forward to seeing you around!

Hi Chantal and welcome to the forum! This is a terrific place to get support and make some wonderful new friends. I can relate to dental issues and fistulas. I have to go back to the dentist to get five teeth filled, plus a few more teeth are becoming sensitive. I used to have very good teeth. When I was 21, I had no cavities, no fillings. I still take very good care of my teeth, but they are starting to raise cane with me. I've had a fistula near my bladder. Please feel free to join right in, vent away if need be. :)

Thank you all :thumright:
Its great to have a place where im not just lazy, where my fistula probs aint gross and where my gum probs aint my own fault....
