Dont know what i have but hate living like this

dont know what i have but hate living like this

I had my galbladder removed almost a year ago. almost right after that I started getting diarrhea and really bad nausea. I work in a public school so over the summer I would wake up with the nausea and make myself throw up and that usually makes me feel better. Mostly everything is worse in the morning. I started keeping a food journal to make sure I didnt eat anything that wouldnt give me diarrhea. Most of the time everything is followed by me gasping for breath sometimes it is so bad i almost start to black out. I went to the dr and they gave me an inhaler but said my lungs and oxygen were fine. I went to the emergency room 2 days ago because i woke up sicker than i ever have. they did a ct and said they are going to treat me for colitis and see how that goes. they put me on metronidazol and oprofloxan and im not sure but I think one of these is making my heart race, i cant tell because it did before too. does anyone have any ideas on where to go from here? it has only been 2 days on the meds so it could be colitis but I hate living this way.

also, have never had blood in stools and with all the throwing up and diarrhea, i have not lot any weight at all. If anything ive gained.

Have you ever had a colonoscopy or an upper GI series? Someone needs to go in and take a look around, as great as a CT scan is, it doesnt replace an actual camera view. The docs you see, are the general practitioners or GI specialists? A specialist is the way to go.

I stinks to be sick and in pain, it stinks worse to have no clue why. There were times when I was in so much pain I would have to literally stop in my tracks, get down on one knee and it took my breath away. Go see a specialist.

HI brendah, like jesse, said go to your GP and get a referral to see a GI specialist. for a colonoscopy. to see what is exactly is going on it doesn't sound right if you have nausea, viomiting and dirrahea all the time. if it is colitis it would show up in you colonoscopy and can be treated properly. i hope you will feel better soon. best wishes.

well i took my meds today and my heart started racing so i went back to the ER and my blood pressure was 190/100 so they took me back and ran alot of tests, xrays, ekg, everything was fine. they gave me meds for anxiety. I asked if it was my meds doing that to me butg never really got a straight answer. im off for 4 more days work, then they want me to see some one to see how things are going. im so sorry others are dealing with all this stuff but so glad im not alone out there. thanks, i think a colonoscopy is what i need also

Hi Brendah and welcome!

Sorry you are having such a rough time, it can be scary when it's all new and you are not sure what you are dealing with.

I will echo the others above and really recommend that you start seeing an experienced GI doctor that deals with Crohn's and Colitis. They need to take a look inside, explain to you exactly what's going on, and tell you how to treat it, not just wiht meds, but also any food restrictions etc.

I recommend making a list of questions to ask your doctor in your follow up appt because it can be really overwhelming and scary and easy to forget your questions, let alone the doc's answers!

Good luck -hope you find some relief soon! - Amy

thank you guys so much. I have no medical insurance, i work full time as teacher aide, but insurance would take most of my whole check. Any ideas on where to go for medical help? free clinics are out, they will see you but then refer you to someone, my bill are really starting to rack up!

Hello and Welcome to the Forum!

I'm sorry you are having a hard time! I agree with others, a colonoscopy/upper endoscopy would really help them see what was going on. I hope your GI gets you on track of figuring out whats wrong so that you can feel better soon!

We have an undiagnosed club here on the forum, underneath the support section. We all don't have an official diagnosis yet, so we know what you are going through! Feel free to come check it out and join in on the conversation. :)

Again, welcome!

HI Bendah, i had a fit of throwing up in the morning and when i eat something that is why i stay to liquids for a while. Drinks like ensure, boost , broths , or any nutritional drinks and lots of gatoraid to keep me hydrated. just until i get my flare under control again. i am on domperidone for the nausea. i take it going to bed and in the morning and before each meal. and it really helps with the morning sickness. and they are not that expensive to purchase you just have to go to the doctor to get a prescription. there many more drugs out there for nausea. but, i found out they were expensive. so , i took the less of the two evils. i hope this helps. best wishes.

I have only thrown up when I have a blockage, its always been my sign that a hospital visit is needed. I am sure its different for each person, but thats how it is for me.
