Rectal Kegel Exercises

I read somewhere recently, that if you do rectal excercises, it can help with urgency. (It's like a vaginal kegel, but not vaginally.)
There are 2 types, I guess.
The first one is to just pretend you are "holding it" until you get to the bathroom.
Do that for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat a few times.
The second one is to hold tighter, like you just won't make it to the bathroom and fear an accident. They said that this one could only be held for a shorter time (4 seconds maybe?) because it's too hard to hold it longer.
I suppose you would have to do these every day, or even twice a day, a few repetitions. (You can do this in the car, sitting around, even in a meeting.)

Has anyone heard of these?? Do they work???
Urgency is my biggest problem at work. I am definintley going to try them.

(Please keep in mind that I have no idea where I read this, or if I even explained it correctly. Try at your own risk.)

Hi there Painful Butt. LOL

I once read that men can do similar excersizes for their prostate. So I should imagine it works. Best maybe to try it a few weeks and see the outcome.

At the very worste it wont work but I can't imagine there would be any harm in it.

Kegel exercises tone and condition the entire pelvic floor muscles, in women and men. You need to do these right (correctly, like any other excercise) and the easiest way to find out is to Google it.. for men, there are tons of benefits, everything from better health to a better sex life.. As a matter of fact, if performed during a state of male arousal, you'll have a definitiive indication that you are doing them correctly. If you try it, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about w/o going into details in an open section of the forum. Let's just say that Eastern tantric practioneers have used this natural male enhancer for countless eons.

Ummm....uh....okay,,,,,
I am COMPLETELY fine with talking about fistulas, diarreha, rectum, anus, puss, anything Crohn's related, but Kev - you threw me for a loop there.
Eeek! You said "arousal" and stuff - I was NOT ready for THAT one!!
You used to be my favorite (how could you NOT be - you're on every darn thread on here ) now I'm not so sure.......
(meant with humor, of course)

I STILL wish they had a smiley icon with diarreah!!

If anyone mentions Ben-wa balls (or however they are spelled!!!!) I am gonna scream!

As for Kegels, it probably would be a good thing. Why don't you try it (perhaps during a meeting, LOL) and report back!

Anyway, my apologies to MBH... somehow I forgot you were of the feminine gender. I may have mixed you up with that Ben Wah character everyone is going on about. My apologies.
