exercise

hi,

just a quick one.

had a bowel resection mid july, and still have an open wound healing (its now only 1.5cm deep). ive been told by my consultant its going to take 4-5 more weeks to heal, and i wont be back in work until then.

so, how long after a major op like this (it took 3 hours), will it take for me to be back at the gym doing cardio?

just spoke to the guy who owns the gym and its being extended (it was too small before, but i loved it!). i cant wait to get back, but am not going to rush it.

in reality, will i need to wait until after christmas?

i used to do 4 hours of high intensity cardiovascular exercise per week, and not much exercise in other ways.. i know that'll probably too much for a long time now, and i might never get back to that (even though i feel fine right now, and am 23!).

I had an open wound like that, and I was able to do walking/power walking. I wouldnt do anything harder than that.

you mean until its healed? im pretty much just walking around now, and feeling better for it (up to 3 weeks ago, i could only go round the block - 200m - once a day, and then moved to twice a day).

or do you mean forever?

Just till it heals. You can do whatever your comfortable with after that.
