Starting Pred Tomorrow (again)

so I've been on hydro cortisone for a few months now, and I haven't seen any effect from it.
pred always works for me, I just hate it for reasons we all know.
but I'm starting 40mg tomorrow tapering down 5mg a week until I get to 15 or 20 and see how things are there.
I'm looking forward to the energy I get from it, but I get the worse leg and hand cramps that at times keep me from sleeping most of the time.
any tips for the leg and hand cramps?
also, I'm supposed to do 40mg a day, would it be better to split it and take 20mg twice a day? that's what I was doing with the hydro cortisone.

hey, Jvstin... Back on the pred rollercoaster, huh? Personally, I always loved me some pred. Never had leg/hand cramps from it per se (at least, my recall says so.. I didn't check my journal).. But I do recall, for whatever reason, that I always took my pred all at once, and before 9 AM. Think it was defacto the recommended method. That I loved it so much may mean that this works.(the methodology, that is)

My doctor always told me to take the pred all at once after having breakfast.

As for the cramps, maybe taking Magnesium can help.

yeah, I was on Magnesium for a while, wouldn't hurt to go back on it for the cramps and such. I probably wouldn't have considered it, thanks for the reminder.
the reason I asked about splitting the pred doses is because on hydro cortisone I was told to take half in the morning and half in the evening.
but I rather take it all in the morning and get it all over with.
