Hi Nancy! Welcome to the family!

We have so many people here that are supporting their children with IBD. Maybe you can find some comfort and answers in this sub-forum: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49 Or this sub-forum: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=90

How old is your son? Has he been checked for anemia? I flare every year for around 7 months. But I am on Remicade, currently, and have not started a new flare!!! I usually start in October, so this is a really good sign for me. Remicade is the only drug I'm on and it's working wonders for me. We do have a Remicade sub-forum, too: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58

I hope I've been able to help you feel better about some of your questions. There are loads of people who will understand what you're going through. You came to the right place!

Hi Nancy and welcome. Unfortunately, everyone is so different. Some people have several flares a year, some can be in remission for years. Some people have nausea, others don't. It's such a tricky disease!

If your son is having issues with bruising, you want want to get his iron levels checked. Also, Jessi makes a good point to be sure he isn't anemic.

As far as a clear CT scan, I have had clear image tests even though inflammation & ulcerations have been seen during a scope.

I sure hope Remicade works for your son. It has done wonders for many!
