How do you know when your well enough?

I don't exercise very often because I don't like it! But my fave type of exercise is swimming, I love being in the water and I can usually do about 30 lengths.
I try to get into the rutine of going once a week. My rutine got broken by going home from uni for the summer hols and I'm yet to start it up again.
My friend asked me earlier today if I wanted to go to aqua aerobics tonight. I was really excited and said that I do.
Only this afternoon I had a little bit of D, which isn't unusual and doesn't bother me. But this has been followed by a bit of pain all evening.
So I have had to tell her I can't go. And now I'm feeling upset about it! Part of me just wants to go and ignore it but I don't know if I can!
What would other people have done in this situation?

I personally would of went. For me, and not just with crohns but if I'm sick or not feeling well I have to get out of the house. I find if I sit around "milking it" all day, it never really gets better so I go out, even for a walk and it gets my mind off of it and I always feel better.

Either that or I've got some oxycodine still from my surgery I can send you.. You wont feel a thing! lol

I would have, and have, done the same thing. I have found that some days I am great, but some days I just can't do it. For me, it depends on what the pain is, where it is, and how severe it is.

If it is gas pain, or just mild discomfort, I know that getting out and moving around will help (usually, I've been wrong before haha).

If it is double-over-and-clutch-tummy pain, then I politely decline and crawl back into bed.

I think if you are happy you can make it to the toilet at the swimming baths in time then go for it.
Tell the teacher before hand you may need to go to the toilet at any time and also if you do get any pains it may be worth stopping for a while (or easing the intensity).
