SO thankful for remicade!

i have recently gone on remicade and have had 2 infusions. I havent felt this great in a year! no cramping and i actually gained weight. so glad i have gone on this drug! just thought i would share

Diagnosed with Crohn's: September 29, 2011
Medications: REMICADE (yay!) and vitamins
Previous Meds: Fagyl, prednisone, Budesonide, Hyoscyamine sulfate(as needed), Omeprazole, Sulfazine, 6mp

That's awesome news thanks for sharing I just took what I think was my 7th remicade infusion, second infusion at the 500mg dose and it's finally working for me as well. Here's a virtual *high five* from a fellow remicade user haha

50mg Imuran - Jun 2010
increased to 150mg Imuran - Jan 2011
5mg/kg Remicade every 8 weeks - Mar 2011
stopped Imuran - Aug 2011
7.5mg/kg Remicade every 8 weeks - Nov 2011
Remicade is still working - Nov 2014
Colonoscopy shows no Crohn's! - Dec 2014

Current meds - 7.5mg/kg Remicade

Dx'd Dyshidrotic Eczema April 2011

2nd bowel resection 10/12/11 - I have 130cm of small intestines left!
Dx'd Chronic gastritis April 2012

Currently taking:
Cholestyramine powder 1-2x daily
Remicade 5mg/kg every 8 wks
Vitamin D3, B12

That's fantastic!! I'm sure its a big relief! I'm also on remicade, I just wish I could get the same results.

It has truly been a blessing to get mostly my life back! It's been so long I had forgotten what normal felt like!! I hope this lasts for a long while

how did you afford? my gi said remicade is $3000 per infusion.

Probably insurance. I'm currently waiting on my insurance to get their heads out of their butts and approve it for me. I hope it works as well for me!

Remi-Start helps the insured peeps.

People without insurance can still get it through J&J financial help.

same here I love this stuff still have symptoms but nowhere near as bad as I was can't wait for my 3rd infusion

I also have 2 insurance to pay for my infusion. SO I get it free kind of.

my mom has insurance through her teaching job. its kinda weird, we dont even pay a co-pay. i hope you can all find an insurance plan or something to pay for it or help at least...it couldnt be THAT expensive?

I'm into my 4th week of the second infusion and feel like I have gone backwards badly more pain gas cramping and hard too have a BM hope the 6th week one helps as its the loading dose

I remember this moment as well when the Remicade first kicked in for me - beautiful. So happy for you!

Oh, and yes, it's a very expensive medication.

Is it possible symptoms get worse on Remicade before they get better?
