It happened, I had a hernia, and now I have an illeostomy

Well, the title pretty much said it. For those of you who have read my posts, you know my story. For those who havnt, I have been suffering from chron's for years. My docters were always trying to push an illeostomy on me, but I wanted to try natural alternatives. I even asked my GI docter if there was any risk to not getting an illeostomy bag right away, and he said there wasnt.

Here is what happened.
About two months ago now, I was celebrating a good friends son's one year old birthday. I was having a great time until the stomach pains started. I left the party quietly and went home with my mother. I was used to having stomach pains. When we went home, the pain proggresed until it was litterally level 10 THE WORST PAIN I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I mean, I know pain, I'm sure many people reading this do, but this was just another level. I asked my mom if she would please take me to the emergeny room, and of course she did. Because my pain was so terrible, I didn't want to wait to go to my normal hospital. So we went to the nearest one. When I entered, the ER was completly full. I was moaning and pacing and crying my eyes out, and I didnt want to scare everyone in the waiting room, so I went outside. It felt like forever until I was admited, but it was probably only about 15 minutes. There were so many people and not enough beds, and of course I was put next to some guy I had gone to JR. high with who kept trying to talk to me. HA.

The docters gave me some pain meds, took my vitals, and released me with four vicoden. On the way home, the pain medicean they gave me started to wear off, and the pain and nausea returned. I knew this wasnt right and that they shouldnt have realeased me. When we realized they forgot to give me anti-nausea medicean, and only released me with four vicoden, while ALL pharmecies were closed, I was upset to say the least. We went back, got some anti-nausea, the nurse said I didnt nead to be admited to the ER.

We went home, and none of the medicean was staying down. After two hours of horrid pain, I told my mom I needed to go back. I was dizzy and confused at this point. I went to take a hot bath, because I was hoping to sooth the pain. The next thing I remember was my mom shaking me awake. I had litterally passed out in the bathtub. She tried to sit me up on the toilet and I fell again, hitting my head hard on the bathroom floor. She was crying and her boyfriend carried me out to the car.

We drove to my regular hospital, they got me in immediatly. Its a bit fuzzy from here but I remember a femail surgen coming in telling me I might die if I don't allow them to do whatever surgery needed, and that includes an illeostomy. I signed the form, met my surgeon, and fell asleep from the medicean.

The next month is a blur, most of it spent in the hospital. Over and over I was rememinded that I almost died, I almost died!

I will write more later but I am getting tired.

The story does get better....
