Confused about my body falling apart.....

I've been flared up for around 11 months already. I alternate between nausea, diarrhea, and if not too many trips to the bathroom aches and pains, extreme fatigue, chest pains, abdomen pains, peeling skin in my mouth once in a great while, a canker sore in my mouth which I never had, gas and bloating constantly, joint pains, anxiety to the extreme, weakness, instestinal spasms and loud gut sounds. Please tell me I'm not the only one. Does this all go together or should I checked for B12 deficiency or anything else? I'm going to be 24 and I'm new to having a disease.

Yes, all of that goes together, I'm sorry to say. B12 as well as D3 deficiencies are common with Crohn's-there's another forum here that covers it. You may also be anemic.

You sound like you are in an uncontrolled flare-cankers sores mirror the ulcerations in the bowel, anxiety attacks come from mass overproduction of white cells. You may also have a bowel infection. Are you currently under a doctor's care? Are you on any medications?

If you have insurance coverage I would get an appoinment ASAP with a Gastroenterologist. If you feel very weak you might need to go to ER-that way you get fluids in you and they run all the tests then and there and within a few hours you have your answers.

You are by no means alone-I've had every symptom you describe. You owe it to yourself to get the right care so you can live your life!

Best wishes and please keep us updated!

I'm currently only on Lialda. The doctor hasn't put me on anything else. I'm taking an antibiotic but can barely afford it so can't take it as much. Yeah got fired for this and had to quit college and I'm ONLY on Lialda!

I'm on the charity program at the hospital that pays for all visits to the ER and clinic but I have no money to go to my specialist. I can't get on medicaid because I'm waiting on disability because I'm unable to work at all.

Could be B12 and/or folic acid. You may only absorb around 10mcg from a 500mcg sublingual tablet and if you are severely B12 deficient, it is recommended by some, to have injections of 1,000mcg daily. If you take lots of folic acid it can cover the underlying symptoms of B12 deficiency and make symptoms reappear worse than before. I read up on it because I've been B12 deficient and it is suspected now that I'm severely deficient (being tested again). I have a lot of your symptoms only they're worse now because I was keep up with folic acid without realizing my B12 might not be very high. Anyhow, it could be anything. This is just something to rule out. Methylmalonic acid and homocysteine values are additional tests good for determining B12 states.

Best of luck.

I feel for you so strongly right now. I have been feeling that way... Help why is my body coming up with so many diff symptoms??? Everything you wrote, except the bad anxiety (besides one panic attack and the prednisone giter feeling now and then), not only I, but many others here on this forum go through with crohns. This forum has eased my worries about many symptoms.
I almost constantly have, what many call a flare, as in constant diarrhea. Normally a lot of pain, but lately my stomach has had less pain, but then the back from Pred is horrible some days. I have candida, which for the past year has caused soooo many side effects. Then headaches like never...which through many crohns sufferes on here, I'm finding is yet another part of crohns. My blood sugar has completely gone out of balance due to Pred, and the Pred isn't stopping the diharrea. So many other things come with it, it's scary when you feel all sorts of things/ symptoms, and it really does, like you wrote, feel like falling apart some days. I hope your feeling a lot better since you posted. xo All the best.

Crohnsnewbie - I am going through the EXACT same thing as you, and have been dealing with it for a while. If you want to talk to someone who can empathize, and perhaps give a little bit of advice, PM me. Seriously, I know exactly what you're going through, and it is HORRENDOUS!

You don't have insurance because you don't have a job; you can't purchase insurance because you have no income; you need a job to get income, but you can't get a job because you're too sick. And the charity programs will only do so much. They're most definitely not geared toward helping Chron's patients. It's a vicious cycle of misery, and it's not fair at all! So yeah...I understand what you're going through. Let me know if I can be of ANY help!

And just know that actually being diagnosed is a HUGE step. I'm going to be 30 this year, and I've been dealing with this my whole life. It's gotten much, much worse over the last few years, and I still have yet to receive an actual diagnosis. Hell...I've been waiting 3 months to get into my local indigent clinic, and still have another month to wait until my appointment. And they'll probably just tell me I have IBS, give me antispasmodics(that DO NOT work), then boot me out to return to my life of misery...as always.
