Elevated ASCA

Hi everyone. I have been reading post from here lately and decided to join.
Several months ago I was referred to a GI specialist due to chronic diarrhea and blood. He ran several blood tests and stool samples. The only thing that came back positive was my ASCA both IgA and IgG in the 70s. He told me this was Crohn's disease. I consulted with my family and we decided I should get the colonoscopy done quickly. My results came back "all clear" and I haven't heard from my dr again. What does this mean?! Was I in the 5-10% false positives, or is there a chance I may still have CD?

Also-not sure if this is related, but I also have positive antibodies for TB.

Call back your doc and keep asking questions until you get the answers you need and understand your complete situation. If he can not answer, find another doc who may be able to help you.

Hi there and welcome.

First off, what did the doctor say when you came back positive for TB? I ask because intestinal tuberculosis can absolutely mimic the symptoms of Crohn's Disease and you can experience what you have.

Second, a colonoscopy being normal doesn't necessarily mean you're IBD free. They need to check up higher in the intestines if you're having chronic, bloody diarrhea. Get on your doctors to provide you the care you deserve! If they won't, get a new doctor.

I wish you well. Please keep us updated.

I am going back to my GI doctor tomorrow to get more info. I had a small bowel done with barium and it came back clear as well. I have thought of the possibility of intestinal TB (that is partly the reason I joined here). The doctor who tested me for TB just said I have antibodies for it but not an active case in my lungs. I am very confused because both antibodies tests are positive within a month! I have no other illness/chronic condition that I know of. I am now thinking I have an over active immune system...
I will post what my GI doc says tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!
