This study is quite interesting,they tried to get back to an 1850's type diet.
Just spelt bread and organic meat,no toothpaste or dish detergent.

Aside from the grains and eliminating fruits and veg it sounds like a lot of the same logic as the paleo diet. Interesting study.

While the Paleo diet may be related, this diet was an attempt to eliminate modern industrial xenobiotics,including detergents and particulate matter,chemicals,antibiotics and
what ever else might be causing our problem. Of course it was also an elimination diet,from normal food alergins,such as wheat.

Well the paleo diet can extend into the paleo lifestyle which is a more natural way of living that would shun the use of modern day chemicals.
