Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum, I havent as yet been diagnosed with Crohns but my symptoms would suggest that I have, I have had to bully my doctor to refer me to a specialist and I see him next week.
What i would like is for anyone out there to tell me if what I am experiencing is right. I have lost three and a half stone in weight and no matter what or how much I eat I will still lose rather than gain. My B12 is low (the doctors told me I drank too much - that is rubbish, I dont drink) My ferritin is low. I have severe joint pain, mainly the neck and shoulders but also hips and knees. I have severe burning and watereing of the eyes. Obviously I am suffering from regular trips to the toilet, usually the first part of the day. Abdominal pain and cramp comes and goes. More recently I have severe burning pain in my chest through to the back between my shoulder blades and some pain on eating, the severe burning can be in my abdomen too penetrating through to the back. I have no quality of life. Can anyone relate to this? I need to know if I am on the right tracks please.

id have to agree with pen, alot of your symptoms are crohn's "classics" but there are few other conditions you may have instead. dont take no for an answer with your doctor, if your feeling awful as you appear to be keep bugging him just to get it through to him that you need help ASAP. hopefully you will have some answers next week and can start on the road to recovery. keep us informed.

It stinks that you had to bully your doctor, but I can definitely relate. I've been through a bunch of docs and in this latest go round, I have been going thorough testing for about a year, and still no definite answers.(although, I will hopefully in a couple of weeks) I don't mean to scare you, and I hope you get you answers sooner, I think not knowing is almost worse than the illness for me. I wish you all the best, and hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks for your replies, having read them and other threads on the forum I have gained great comfort from knowing that I am not the only one that has struggled for a diagnosis and I certainly havent gone through what some members have gone through so thank you all.

HI
hope all goes well for ya, and ya get some answers.
I also have burning and moisture in my eyes.

It's taking three months to realize my symptoms, and 5 months for a diagnosis, not the longest, but pretty long when you're suffering in the bathroom.
