Hi

Hi
My name is Dee and Jai is my beautiful German Shepherd Dog he is 6 years old. I am 41 on Sunday. I had some blood tests last Thursday 9th August because I have been having diarrhoea and sick every 7 to 10 days for the last 9 months at first I thought it was connected with my periods as it was it seems to coincide with my period as it would be about 11 days before for 4 days. I was told at the age of 16 that I have IBS.

I spoke to one of the GP’s in my practice and he decided that I need to have the blood tests and they came back yesterday and most of the tests were normal but the one for the bowel show inflammation so on Monday when I see my normal GP I will get him to do the stomach examination and the internal examination and then hopefully he will refer me to see a specialist to rule out different conditions of the bowels. I have had problems with tears and tags in and around the anus opening.

I have had problems with my teeth and gums for years. The gums bleed a lot when brushing and the teeth feel lose all the time. I had the hygienist on Wednesday and my teeth and gums are still very sore. I will get some flossing stuff when I get paid. I have to go back to see her in three months’ time to see what is going on with the mouth. My tongue is sore most of the time and at times it has sore edges what look like small ulcers and gets very painful to eat any solid food.

A little bit more about me, I have fibromyalgia and I have had it since I was about 10 years old but it didn’t cause much problems until I hit my mid-teens and then the pain got worse and then as I have got older it has caused major problems. I have been in a wheelchair for the last 11 years because it got too painful to walk and walking was causing me to only function one day a week and at the age of 30 it’s no life. Over the last 10 or so years I have been picking up allergies like anything currently I have 23 and some of life threatening and I now carry Epipens/Jext to deal with that.

I love dogs! I have two of myself, American Cockerspaniel name Hippu and Collie name Iina. :)

Do you have Crohn's dx yet?

had a scan a few months ago and showed that everything was fine. I am hoping to be refered to urogynae specialist as i am have a hystomectomy becasue i have major problems with my periods they can last upto 14 days and then 6 days later PMT kicks in so only those 6 days free from systoms. I dont want to have children if i did i would foster as its helps kids have a family life.

Hi
When I was nearly 19 I started to have problems with ovian cysts. The first one was in May '90 they thought that i had appenisitis but it was a large cyst on my right ovary and they burst it when taking out my health appendix's. Then in september '91 I had another one removed and then again in '92 and '93 where i lost my left ovary and tube. then i had a few other scares with cyst but they dispursed by theirselves which is good. I started my periods started when i was only 7 years old which is not normal. at the age of sixteen i had a period that lasted for six months and then had a three break and bleed for another two months. It was about a year before they got back into a routine of every 21 days, I am currently having period between every 22 - 27 days which is ok. They are quite heavy and i take something for it and i al also on the birth control pill tryin g get things undercontrol but its not going that well at the moment.

Dee, have you tried fresh juice for your teeth and gums? While I don't have that problem, I do notice that mine feel healthier adter drinking spinach, kale and beet juice. And remember when you drink juice that digestion begins in the mouth so let the juice linger there before swallowing. Hang in there. This stuff sucks and I hope you feel much better sooner than later.

Hi
I have had another two days of diarrhea and sickness. This is getting so frustrating as its happening so often. Some good news I have been referred to have the camera put up into my bowels. Hopefully it will show what is going on with everything. When the sickness kicks in i cant even keep water down which isnt good. Finally I was able to keep down some food yesterday as I hadn't been about keep anything down. My poo stinks like hell. I should be able to start using my Peristeen to do my twice daily wash out which helps me to keep me continent as i hate having bowel accidents.

It will take a few months to get an appointment to have the test done as I have opted to go to my local hospital which is closer than the other centre which could do it in a few weeks. I know that I should have gone for the other place but i wasnt sure if i would get hospital transports. Also I dont fancy having a long journey to get home after if i am not feeling well.

Hi
I am already on Vit D and Calcum tablets as I am low on both of these. I will have been on these tablet for nearly a year now. The doctor put me these after blood tests showed the problem up. Also it showed that I had a problem with an inherided a cholestor and trigysiride problem. I have been put on fibrabrate to control these.

I'm not totally sure as I have had some many blood tests over the last year as at one stage I was getting test every 6 - 8 weeks for different things.. I am due a load of blood tests at the begining of November to test everything including for diabetes and then they normally test for the vitamins then. week after those tests I normally see the smart heart clinic nirse Fran and then she tells what is going on with the cholestor and other things.

Hi
I saw the specialist a few weeks ago and he feels that I have IBS and not crohns. i am going to speak to my GP about going to see a dietitian about doing an exclusion diet to see if i can what is triggering the problems. currently i am recovering from an operation so I'm not doing a lot at the moment.

He looked at first 12cms of the bowel and felt that is was fine. I have had two bouts of diarrhoae since the appointment.

Hi
A little update in January 2013 I went on to a gluten free diet and all the bowel problems stopped. In 18 months I have only had two bouts of diarrhea which is good. The Celiac test came back normal. I have found that i feel so much better for cut it out.

I think that my youngest niece might IBD as she has had problems since is was 3 months old with serve constipation and now she has had at least 2 or 3 partial blockages of the bowel. She had to have Pixalax four times to clear her out. This time around she had to have 3 pixalax to clear her out in the end the had to knock her out to have a look around to see if she was totally empty. She also has a problem where her bowel has attached to her womb and there is a hole between them now so she is also poo'ing through her vagina, she is only 13 but she has a lot of health problems. She also has a learning disability, epilepsy and the last 4 years she has had problems with serve back and hip pain where at times she finds it very painful to walk. The consultant for her spine problem that she grow out of it within 18 to 24 months but she still has a lot of pain, she is following after me for back problems as I have finally been told that I do have Spina Bifida Occulta it is only 42 years late.
