HA! I put that title just to make you read it!
Are you trying to figure out what seedless strawberries are? So, I can't have seeds - strawberries are out, but I peeled some today. I can eat watermelon, cantaloupe, peeled nectarines, peeled plums, the inside of a strawberry must be similar to one of those. So what's the verdict? Can I eat peeled strawberries?? |

strawberries only have those tiny weeny little seeds - would they really cause you problems, MBH?
if so, i would say yeah, go for it with the peeling. but watch out for rashes... i'm allergic to strawberries and i know a few folk with immune issues who are too... |

it must be pretty difficult to peel strawberries. but i think you should have called them "naked strawberries," not "seedless strawberries." more interesting that way...

I tried two of them. The strawberries, not katiesue's cookies. I really just cut them close to the outside, not with a peeler. The low residue diet says no strawberries, I just assume it's because of the seeds. Then again, pears are a no eat food on that diet. High fiber I guess. Would the seeds cause problems? No idea, but they aren't really digestable, so I'll peel them. I don't even like strawberries that much unless they're from a U-pick farm. Not this time of year from the grocery store. |

I bet with diverticulitis you aren't to have strawberries, things like poppyseeds, etc...the smaller is actually more dangerous.

No diverticu-whatever that is called. Just low residue diet, which says no seeds. I count those as seeds for sure, no matter how small. I'd kill for a lemon poppyseed muffin.
Are you SURE you can eat strawberries Pen? You're not feeling the greatest lately, and you eat a lot of them from your garden, right? No meds seem to work on you, how do you know you're tolerating them? (Not trying to sound snotty, if that came off that way.) |

Do you have to COOK them naked, or just eat them while you're naked? I'm lost here.
(Katiesue - did you NOT see post #7??) |

Blend strawberries up with water and a banana. You wont notice the seeds, just smooth deliciousness. And no, it wont bother you. Just maybe stay away from blackberries because they are more seedy...and arent as good to eat in a smoothie anyway.

I just got the book "What to eat with IBD" and I was thinking 'oh crap not strawberries" when I got the part about seeds.
I think if one is patient enough, you can pick the seeds off....
