I'm new here

Hi all. I have been suffering from cdiff for 3 months and had had 3 courses of antibiotics. Has anyone here suffered from cdiff that can share their experiences with me and if they finally got if this horrible illness?

Katchel7 I am sorry you have had Cdiff for so long. Do they know why its lasting for so long? How is your Crohn's holding up with the Cdiff?

Hi I was diagnosed with IBD UC at the age of 16,I am 21 now. I am on mesacol 1600
Mg,folic acid tablets 5mg and riboflavine tablets 10 mg.

C diff is a nasty thing to have even when you have no other health problems.
My Grace has dealt with this. Out of total curiosity do you lean toward constipation?
What kind of meds have they put you on?
Also do you have Crohn's or UC? Where's the location?

I have been on 7 days flagyl then relapsed, 16 days vancomycin then relapsed and then combo of flagyl and vancomycin for 10 days. Now I'm waiting to see if I relapse again as I only finished antibiotics yesterday. I'm seeing a specialistat the end if this month who will further investigate for Crohn's. No diagnosis has been given yet apart from cdiff. I'm considering fecal transplant but my GP would rather laugh at it than consider it. Thanks for your replies

OK interesting. Maybe a second opinion on the fecal transplant. It has shown great promise for c diff.
OK here's another Q. Did you suspect Crohn's before or after the c diff?

Why do you think Crohn's? What are you symptoms, if I may ask.

They suspected Crohn's after cdiff commenced as when they tested md for cdiff it initially came up negative however have had positive result since then. They think that antibiotics should have cured cdiff by now so there must be an underlying condition. Symptoms I've had are diarrheah , blood and mucus in stool, stomach pain and fever. As soon as I finish antibiotics symptoms return within 7 days.

Interesting AGAIN! Sounds like my Grace. Found the c diff, said it was the cause of it all and her symptoms never went away. Negative for c diff after two rounds though.

I hope you get answers soon
