Stinky, clear discharge from belly button

Hi all,

Having a strange thing that I've not had before. My belly button is leaking clear white fluid - its a little yellowish and crusty when I wake up. The discharge has a very bad odor. My belly button area is a little red and sore, mostly where the discharge is and seemingly because of trying to clear it up.

ANy ideas? Should I worry?

I've been struggling with strange things lately - big sore on my eye ball, two skin carcinomas, had to have a root canal cause I broke a tooth while grinding my teeth in my sleep. I've had Crohn's for 18 years but only recently have had very severe arthritis pain that rheumatologist calls spondylitis because of the Crohn's, but would otherwise label RA.

I feel like I"m falling apart. And my son with Crohn's has been sick too...aye, aye, aye.

Should I see a doc about belly button thing? It's been only two days since it started.

Im no expert but a leaking belly button sounds like something that you might want to consult with your doctor on. Just might be something like a fistula?

My Support Groups:
a clear, yellow odorous fluid is usually puss from infection. Have you had surgery recently?
I agree with superzeeman, it could be a fistula as well. I would consult with your doctor to make sure it isn't something serious.
