Snowy,

saw your post and wanted to send support your way. I have read many posts about C. Diff. You will be getting some great advice soon. check out the wiki site, there is some info.

After unsuccessful responses, I know some have turned to fecal implants.
wish you the best.

First off, he should have given you something right away for it. Usually they give you flagyl or oral vancomycin.

As far as work, NO do not go to work with that, it is VERY contagious and you can spread it to others if you use the toilet. YOu have to use pure bleach to clean down your toliet after every BM you have. IT is highly contagious and the only thing that kills it is bleach. Those other cleaners wll NOT kill it or effect it, it has to be bleach.

Make sure you bleach down everythng in your bathrooma after you use the toliet if you are sharing the same bathroom with others as C-diff is highly contagious. I am suprised your doctor did not give you something right away. I mean this has to treated as it can get very serious. You should call him and tell him you want treatment right away. Do you know where you picked it up?? Were you in the hospital recently or on antibiotics? You also should be taking some strong probiotics as well when you are taking any type of antibiotics. There is one called Floratsor that is suppose to even help get rid of C-diff. You can get it at your local pharmacy.

I hope you feel better soon and get treated soon...

I haven't been in hospital except visiting my late father and that was only two visits and I havent had antibiotics not recently , only had two short doses of pred in November could this have started it or does could start with the flare up of Crohns ?
My specialist said I had to wait to see the GP dont know why something about him sending a report .
To be honest its hard to take it all in when you feel so ill .

Thanks for the info I will endeavor to be seen tomorrow

Usually C-diff is picked up by someone who is or has been on antibitoic therapy recently. The antibitoics kill the good gut flora and then C-diff can take hold. Also I have heard of people getting it when they have a colonoscopy( a dirty or infected scope can infect a person with C-diff).

Are you taking any type of probiotics?? I would recommend them especially since you are fighting the C-diff. I hope your doctor will treat you soon so you can feel better....
