SCD + juicing ???

Happy Mom's day!

Are any SCD moms also juicing as a way to provide vitamins and minerals?

I read the thread below and am intrigued w/discussion of carrot plus apple juice.

There is an adult section on juicing.
Only a handful of mom who are regulars here are doing scd.

Link to the juicing forum

Hope it works for your child

Not doing SCD but I am juicing. I have been having difficulty getting my son to drink any of the veg juices. The one with the best adoption so far has been a carrot, apple, orange juice. I use about 3 large carrots, 1/2 an apple and 1 orange. This week I am going to try to find a beet containing juice that he likes. Good luck and let me know how it goes. If you develop any good juice recipes pass them on, I'd love to try them.

My son wasn't impressed with any of the juice flavors we came up with either. He would drink a ginger, carrot, apple, kale with minimal fuss. We started noticing that after juicing he would cramp and bloat which usually affected what he would eat for the rest of the day. Since, calorie intake was important to us we backed off the juicing. But, I agree the juicing forum has some great recipes!

Not doing SCD but we are huge fans of juicing. Well....not really juicing. We use the nutri bullet which pulvarizes the food into a juice. With that you get the skin, seeds (there is a short list of seeds that can not be pulvarized as they turn harmful), fiber etc. O's favorite is spinach or kale, blueberry, strawberry and banana. We fill the cup half full with spinach, 1/2 cup of each berry, a whole frozen banana and some water. Oh yeah and hemp seeds in every concoction we make! Depending on mood maybe a little cocunet oil, falx seed, wheat germ etc.
