Waiting on diagnosis

Question.....has anyone here had multiple extra-intestinal symptoms before having bowel symptoms? I have an 18 year history of kidney stones, have had multiple blood clots with no known cause and was diagnosed with scleritis a year ago. About five months ago started having constant diarrhea with abdominal/back pain, fevers and night sweats. My PCP referred me to GI then, but I didn't go until today after developing a small anal abscess. GI doc thinks its probably Crohns and wants to do a colonoscopy. I've always had a "nervous" stomach, but nothing like I'm having now. She was surprised none of the other specialists I've seen linked all these symptoms together, but I just figured they were individual issues. She also mentioned immune inflammatory disease as if it were something different than Crohns (she also said its different than UC). Anyone else out there had an experience like this?

Well, looking back ( a long time ago) I believe my knee pain since my 20s was related to the later diagnosis with Crohns. I saw several ortho Docs for it, but they all said they didn't see anything, so must be arthritis. I had a few abdominal pain times intermixed there, but clear for years in-between. Now I KNOW when my knees get really bad and my thumb hurts, and my Achilles heal, I'm going to have a flare. I also had blood clots, but not related to the Crohns.

Good Luck!

Doctors?! I was Diagnosed with High blood pressure and artheritus...no Crohns or UC Dx.
This has na stopped for the longest time. No doctors could put anything together for me, I had to point em in that direction?! I still am. If I did na have this site...I would be rollin round and crying in pain right now. I love this place...it helped me. It will help you.

I've had joint problems for years, plus diabetes, then crohns came along last Dec, I never would have put them all together but now it's being looked into to see if they are linked....well not the diabetes though. I had been asking my gp if the joint pains were linked cos I had so many of them? He always said no? But time will tell? :).
