I was diagnosed with UC and have been taking Apriso and just finished the predisone. What a relief. The question I have is: Do I have to take Apriso the rest of my life or can I just take them when I have an attack? I'm new at this and don't like meds and it is breaking my budget.

Is Apriso a Life Long Treatment or Temporary for UC?

You don't have to be on any drug indefinitely but moderate to severe IBD generally requires maintenance drugs. Some people with mild IBD can get by just having drugs during a flare. I don't recommend that approach and most gastros will not be down with that either.
