This has to be my sixth perianal abscess I've ever had. With every single one I was able to have it drain on its own with the assistance of Cipro and Flagyl. Last time I had Cipro I stupidly took it while I was on pred causing massive tendonitis (I had to be on crutches for about a month). Now I am absolutely eager to get rid of this growing abscess (it's been 4 days since I noticed it). I have left over Cipro and Flagyl. Do they HAVE to be taken in combination with each other to clear up the abscess? Has anyone here ever had it clear up from just flagyl alone?

Flagyl only for abscess

My abscesses never responded to antibiotics but I have been on cipro alone, Flagyl alone and the combo.
