Default Scrapbooking

Anyone else here into scrapbooking?

I was wondering if anyone has a Cricut machine and if they think they are worth the investment. There are so many different gadgets out there and I really want a die cutter, but I am unsure as to which to get. What about Sizzix , Xyron or Cuttlebug machines?

Let me know what you guys think?

Also, I would love to make my own cards but seem to have a hard time finding card kits that have envelopes with them. Many seem to only come with the cards.

Hi Teeny,
I LOVE MY CRICUT! I never had any of the other products, but the Cricut is wonderful. Anything you want to make, just type in and cut. There are so many different fonts and programs that you can virtually make anything with a Cricut.

I'm glad to see another scrapbooker on here!

I love scrapbooking because you can save your best pictures in a way that is fun to look at. Otherwise my pictures end up in a box somewhere where I can never find them.

hleeann-I have heard great things about the Cricut, but not much about the others. Sounds like the best.

If you want me to cut some sample titles/words and send them off to you so you can see what the Cricut is like, let me know. I'd be happy to oblige.
Scrapbooking is one thing that helps me keep my mind off of the Crohn's.

I looooooooooooove scrapbooking!!! I haven't had much time to do it in the last couple of months, but it is a passion of mine...and I personally hate the Cricut...and all other assorted cutting machines...they are ridiculously expensive to buy new cartridges, and half the time I can't find the die-cut I'm looking for...I love to torture myself, so I make them by hand...I know, it sounds crazy...but I like the work and effort it takes to do them each individually.

I think there's much value in that, Daisy. I'm just not that patient!

The cost of the cartridges is what concerns me too. You can get a machine for maybe a couple hundred but then I saw cartridges that were $90-130. Just trying to find a good solution. I don't mind making all the die cuts myself, but I don't always have the time for it so I guess I was looking for a good shortcut.

Yay, scrapbookers!!! I am a scrapaholic! I go to at least 2 scrapbook retreats a year, it's a great escape!

I love my Cricut, too! I only buy cartridges when they are 50% off at Hobby Lobby. You can get them cheap on E-bay sometimes, too. I ask for them as birthday/Christmas gifts, too.

Teeny, you can buy boxes of "invitation envelopes" at Wal-Mart pretty cheap that will go with your homemade cards. I make cards, too - haven't bought one in years!

I haven't done my own cards, but have been wanting to because I can never seem to find ones that I really like. Some are too mushy or religious for who I am giving them to.

I also have been looking at the Cuttlebug. It has cheaper dies for it, but doesn't have the computer part that you can do with Cricut.
