Hi my name is Patrick I am new here advice pls

For the last 18 months I have noticed when having a bowl movement that there is blood I seen the doctor he got me to the hospital to have a colonoscopy they took a tissue sample for a biopsy and I left the hospital fearing the worst after hearing them talking about biopsy anyway I got another appointment to see the specialist at the hospital he told me I have non specific colitis
I have been taking pentasa enemas 1 time a day some days it works and no blood but then the blood is back . So I am thinking pentasa is not great and there must be a better medication out there if so can you give me advise
My uncle lives in South Africa and he told me to try Swedish bitters yarrow dried nettles and some other things he took them and says it has cured his ulcerative colitis so just waiting for my delivery and I'll give that a try
What works for you please advise what medication to take what to eat and what not to eat.
Thanks from Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Sorry you're not feeling well. Unfortunately, I can't give you too much advice on what to eat or to avoid, since different people tolerate different things.

If the pentasa isn't working well, let your doctor know. He or she may suggest another medication or a change in dosage or how it's administered.

Good luck!

Hi Patrick
Welcome to the forum
Recurring blood
is never normal and it is a reason to be in touch as soon as possible with your GI specialist who may want the opportunity to review your symptoms and treatment .
He should take a look at things before you embark on your proposed course of action --
just a suggestion.
Please keep in touch with us at the forum , we care and are interested in how you get on.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha
