Nice to Meet You!

Hey everyone! It's nice to see that I am not alone in the world of Crohn's disease. It's kind of hard sometimes not knowing anyone who has the same issues as I do. Very lonely most of time. Anyways, on to introducing myself.

I am Sabrina Cline, a seventeen year old Crohn's disease patient. I was diagnosed April 13, 2012 (Friday the Thirteenth - most luckiest day in the world right?). I had a bleeding ulcer and lost around twenty pounds before diagnosis. I was so happy that day, but at the same time I was angry.

However, my diagnosis was not what made me frustrated, it was the emergency doctors. Every time I went into those doors, they accused me of being an attention seeking fifteen year old. Even as I doubled over in pain and cried, they did not believe I was actually in pain. So, after five hospital visits, I just stopped going and looked for a specialist in the GI world.

After trying all medications under the sun, we finally found some that worked. Asacol HD, 6MP, Peppermint Oil, and Remicade, you are my friends for life (literally) :ylol: Being on a restricted diet also helped. But you know what? I love it! Especially when I figure out new recipes so I can eat "normally."

Anyways, thanks for listening to me introduce myself and my little rant in the middle. Sometimes you just need to rant to the world even if no one listens.

Oh, and thank God for medications. It really helps. :)

Love you all and hope for your quick recovery!
Sabrina Cline
