Fissure or fistula?

Hi everyone,
I'm still pretty new to my crohns disease I was diagnosed with in august. I went to see my GI doctor two weeks ago and his assistant nurse checked my "bum" out and she thought it was a fissure. Well the pain is back and I am having some random drainage. She did notice I had a skin tag which is still there. The medication they gave me nitroglycerin gel I believe really stings badly when I use it. How do I know if it's a fistula? Thank you for your help

Hi Jossalyn. Did the GI examine your bum too? Did they give you a timescale for the gel to work?
