a question for you girls.
i am nearly 40 yrs old and have had regular periods. my last was 2nd may, so i have totally missed a period. i am not pregnant, about 8 months ago the doctor did say i was going through the change because i am not ovulating. is there any other reason why i shoulld miss a period? sharon xx |

When you go through menopause you can both lose your periods totally and also have irregular ones. You can also have more than you are supposed to. Other than menopause, you can miss periods due to stress. I would think you've skipped this period due to menopause from what you've said though.
I would also suspect that you haven't actually missed it yet... it may be coming but not till later. I know my mom is pissed because she's perimenopausal and shes having MORE periods than she should (she says she wished she could just be normal and lose them altogether) |

thanks katie, i didnt think stress would stop my periods. i am having loadsa stress at the moment. solictors, court cases and the education dept are all being being a pain in the arse.

In my mid-twenties, I completely missed a period... Wasn't pregnant or flaring, but was under a lot of stress. The next month, it arrived right on schedule... It was bizarre but the following periods seemed normal, so I never followed up on it.
