Hi, I've had crohns since I was 13 (20 now) and im one of the very fortunate ones. I had about two dreadful years of hospital trips and then Infliximab fixed me up (next on the list was that bag) and I havnt really suffered a lot since. I came off my meds about a year ago but recently, for the past two months, I've started having very loose bowel movements again. About 3-4 a day. I'm not having any other symptons though... I'm almost certain this is because I started drinking a lot of apple juice, which I think im intolerant too. Basically I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of treatments I can give myself that might sort this out?
Thanks for any help you can offer Tom |

Hi Mayesey, welcome to the forum.
I would definitely cut out the apple juice. It's common to give apple juice to kids to help them "go", and I know that apple cider makes me go explosively. Why did you stop the Remicade? Have you been on nothing else since then? |

I've already cut out the apple juice, about a month ago. (It was apple cider as well for me). Which ones the remicade? I only ever had one course of the infliximab if thats what is... I came off both my other meds (azathioprine and asacol) a year ago because i went away for a long time and had no problems so started to forget... I've read about Psyllium Husks, would anyone recommend this?

Hmmm. So you were >this< close to a bag, and now the Crohn's seems to be back, perhaps?
Think if it was me and having been off the apple juice for a month with no improvement; I'd go straight back to the big guns and ask very nicely if I can play again. |
