Colonoscopy Prep Is Trying To Kill Me!!!!

I've only managed to choke down 24oz of the prep so far. My doc said I can flavor it with drink powder to help the taste. So far blue Gatorade and peach mango haven't helped. By the third cup I'm having trouble forcing it down...it keeps trying to come back up against my will. Any of the vets here have any hints? I know it has to be done but my stomach is rejecting it...help plz

Maybe try diluting it further, so it masks the taste more?

In the future it might be a good idea to request Picosalax, which tastes much better!

I hate the thoughts of diluting it more since it will increase the volume I have to choke down but I think I'm gona try the next cup without anything and see if it's easier to chug without that super strong drink mix in it lol

Don't dilute it. Get it as cold as possible and hold your nose while you drink. Walk around for a bit after you drink...it helps stuff move around and out of your stomach.

It might help to keep a tiny wedge of lemon between your teeth while drinking it plain and icy cold. Some find a straw helpful.
Fresh Lemon can settle the stomach a bit and I found the wedges helped with every glass.
Flavoring was the worst thing for me.
You could try gravol but if things are so bad maybe you should call your GI for advice.
There are drugs that will make it stay down like maxeran and domperidone.
Some people have found keeping a hard peppermint candy in the mouth to be helpful
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

I didn't think about the peppermint thing! That might help. I took a promethazine about half an hour after I started the prep, but I'm pretty sure all it did was make me sleepy lol

If it is unflavored, you can drink chicken broth with it. They are both salty so it helps.
