Hello from West Yorkshire UK.

Hi guys im Carl, 32, and after 2 yrs of pain I have finally got a diagnosis of UC.
Im on day one of 8 weeks of steroid treatment and also been given calcium and mesalazine sups twice a day. Im not looking forward to the side effects. I currently also have regular appointments with rheumatology as I have early stage ankylosing spondylitis and im
hla b27+.
Hopefully I can use this forum to share stories and make friends with those that understand this awful condition cos im fed up of hearing..."you don't look ill"

Hello and welcome. You've come to the right place for support, advice and of course friendship. We've all heard casual remarks from those who haven't got a clue what IBD REALLY means.I hope your meds kick in soon and you start to feel much better.Have a good old vent when you need to and don't worry about giving us T.M.I. We've all been there, frequently unfortunately.Have a better day tomorrow.
