Is it Crohn's or something else? 15 years of feeling horrible!

Hello,

I was diagnosed with CD in 2000. Ever since then I have felt horrible... Very fatigued, sleepy, nauseous, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pains, brain fog, just felt like I've had to flu for the last 15 years. Worse in the mornings.

In the last few months, I started gaining weight, craving foods (healthy foods like veggies and meat) and constantly hungry. I try to eat healthy, but am no where close to perfect, but I do not eat horrible either. I feel that my weight gain is not just because my diet.

Also when I eat, food passes very quickly. Especially fruits/veggies. I can eat a salad and pass whole foods with in 20 minutes (I know this is the food I just ate because I do not eat salads very often)

I have tried just about every CD medications, including trials, and nothing has seemed to help.

I am lacking Vitamin D. I am a little low on Vitamin B12 but not that low. As of right now I am not Anemic (although I titer back on forth on that).

So my question is could this be something else wrong with me? Something other than CD? thanks

Hi and welcome.

It could be the Crohn's. I'm afraid I'm not really sure what's going on.
Have you been in to see the doctor to get things checked out?

I do have a wonderful GI that I see regular. I am seeing him Wednesday, I was just thinking maybe there could be something else that might be making me feel horrible since every medication I have tried for CD (and I've tried them all including drug trials) has not worked at all... thanks

Please share if you find relief. I felt horrible, just "wrong" for a couple of years. Finally, I was diagnosed with s Borrelia infection & treated that so I expected to start feeling better. Nope! Sad so many people are feeling bad, but relieved there is hope!

I had a dr tell me that if you're on steroids it can slow your adrenal glands down making it very easy to gain weight.. They can check your cortisol levels to see if this is the case.
