Duodenal biopsy results/?

hi all, hope you have some ideas as im stressing out.
i was diagnosed with UC 6 yrs ago. but i later was found to have adhesions all up the outsides of my bowel having had no prior surgery! i was told by gastro you dont get adhesions with UC so it could be crohns.

I recently had a endoscopy due to abdo pain, nausea, vomiting, pain after eating. it showed moderate inflammation in my duodenal- patchy with erosions. im waiting for the biopsy results but am freaking out about whether this could be crohns. another one of my specialists said that the biopsy would show whether its 'normal inflammation' or something else. what is 'normal inflammation'? so if it shows that its not IBD? i believe commonly people have duodenitis because of stomach acid, but then youd have gastritis aswell which i dont? errrrgh wish theyd hurry up. so worried its crohns.

Sorry you are feeling so stressed out and worrying doesn't help even though we all do it.
There are a number of reasons for this inflammation other than crohns.,it could be peptic. Ulcer disease or duodenitis these can be treated with different drugs....your endoscopy Doctor will also have taken a biopsy to check for A bacterial infection known as Helicobacter pylori
which again can be treated with antibiotics.
The area you mention is not a usual site for crohns but of course it must be ruled out.
When is your next appointment with the GI Doctor.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

i would of thought peptic ulcer and h pylori would cause inflammation in your stomach? it is duodenitis but that just means inflammation of the duodenum. id read although its rare to have crohns disease up there, that area of the duodenum is common?
no my GI doc refused to see me because she said my symptoms werent to do with IBD! and that was before i had an MRI showing thickening and narrowing and then this endoscopy

Duodenitis can precede formation of duodenal ulcer and H pylori is indicted and has been isolated on both counts...from stomach and duodenum.
Crohns can attack anywhere from mouth through to anus and everything between.
It is less usual in the duodenum.
It is better for you to consult with a gastroenterologist for appropriate diagnosis.
Feel better soon
