LDN, Gluton,Opiates & how they effect immunity

This is an interesting article from Dr. Mercola's site on how all the above alter your immune system. Lots of information I have not read before.

i read something interesting a few weeks back. It was a book by Dr. Margaret Patterson published in 1975. Dr. Patterson developed an electrical acupuncture device used to help drug and alcohol addicts overcome additions. Her better known patients are famous UK musicians and actors such as Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Sean Connery etc.

She made a mention that she felt her acupuncture device helped addicts by raising endorphin levels. This is the same main theory mentioned on how LDN is thought to work.

What caught my attention was how her machine was used by some patients to help with pain and the autoimmune condition Parkinson's. Little more was mentioned on this. Addiction was the main point of the book.

No mention was made about IBD conditions being helped by her acupuncture device unfortunately. It would be nice if the device did work on autoimmune conditions such as IBD as it is simple to use. One simply hooks it up to the ear and let it run for a short period of time. No daily pills or diet change required.

A little about her and her NET acupuncture device can be read here:

excerpt:

When you first meet 77-year-old Dr. Meg Patterson, you may not
believe that she has been involved in shaping rock history by saving the
lives of several of rock’s jet-set junkies. This diminutive Scottish
surgeon with a sweet Scottish burr, became at 21, the youngest woman to
qualify as a doctor at
Scotland’s Aberdeen University and in 1948 went as a medical missionary
to India. She has helped rescue drug abusers Eric Clapton, Keith Moon,
Rolling Stones bad boy Keith Richards and The Who’s Peter Townsend, who
frankly admits, “If I hadn’t gone to Meg, I’d be dead.”...

I would think Keith Richards would be the litmus test for any drug treatment method.

Interesting method. I wish there was more info on it.

There is an active doctor that has written more on the idea of electrical stimulation acupuncture to heal and control autoimmune conditions. The units are similar to TENS units, most frequently used by athletes to control pain.

In his books he has written about Crohns and Colitis.

Dr. Jerry Tennant's web sight can be viewed here:

I personally have not tried this idea, other than some basic earthing acupuncture energy ideas, which I've found beneficial. I likely will not be buying one of the electrical acupuncture devices to experiment with. I'm doing quite well of late, with greatly improved energy.
