Stomach pain

My 12 year old had check up last week and everything seems to be going fine. He is scheduled for a MRE in a couple weeks. Over the last couple of days he has complained of some minor stomach pain in lower right side. He did eat some watermelon the other night and I am wondering if he just overdid it with that and wasn't careful in removing seeds. Is that a possibility?

I would think a kid could definitely have abdominal pain from watermelon seeds.
A similar thing happened to my daughter with right sided inflammation after eating popcorn. It took 3 or more days to clear the hulls as far as I could determine.
