Conflicting Evidence.

I have had nausea and abdominal pain for at least five years now. Last year it got worse and I started to puke and lost weight, I went to my primary and he thought I had a stomach ulcer and he wanted a endoscope done, then referred me to a gastroenterologist. My gastro had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done and said I had gastritis in my stomach and inflammation in my illium, he prescribed me to take pentsa and shortly after to have a capsule endoscopy done. When the capsule endoscopy was done, the results didnt match the colonoscopy and endoscopy, also I had to stop pentsa since my insurance does not pay for it and since then no medications last long. I also don't have one of the common symptoms of Crohn's which is dirahha.

Why is this so frustrating to navigate.

You can still have Crohn's and not have diarrhea. What was it about the results that they didn't match? How far apart time-wise were the conflicting tests done?

Yes, do you have the official results of your lab tests (biopsies from endoscopies and pill cam report)? If so, you can post the summary if you want our thoughts, If you don't have the official results, you can ask your doctor's office for them.

Test results can be different 1. because tests can have false negatives (=seems normal when there is actually a problem) and false positives (=seems abnormal when there is no problem) and 2. if the tests were taken at two different time points and the condition was more or less active at the two time points.

I don't tend to have diarrhea, I actually have issues with constipation quite a bit.. I think my dr said something to the point of 5% of crohnsies actually suffer with constipation instead of diarrhea
