Can a flare effect heart?

I had some pains develop for a day and a half and then the following morning I woke up dizzy almost passed out, couldn't see for a few seconds. Soon after that I got chest pain and shortness of breath and my EKG was abnormal and I was sent to the hospital. Is there a connection? I have been able to manage it well for some time now. But this heart episode has me wondering.

I'm afraid that it does sound possible. Here's some info I found.

Hi Andrea. An electrolyte imbalance and/or dehydration can also affect your heart, and that can easily happen in a flare. You should probably get to the doctor ASAP to get it checked out. Hopefully it's just a case of getting you some IV fluids with electrolytes, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Please keep us posted on how you're doing and what the doctor says! Take care!

Can any of that be caused by not being able to go to the bathroom and had to wait a while before being able to go? This was my situation that led to my pain and then very closely after the heart situation.

Yes, constipation can cause this. Here's something I found on that.
