Hi, in January 2016 I was in hospital visiting my mother-in-law (in another state) and ended up in hospital myself with an infection, diarrhea and vomiting, I was put in a quarantine ward for about a week. They thought I might be contagious. Whilst there they emptied my stomach, I had several scans blood tests and colonoscopy. Since they could not determine what I had I let myself out of hospital to attend the funeral and flew back home.
Once home I saw my GP and again had heaps of tests and another colonoscopy. In December 2016 I was back in hospital with the same symptoms as before and had the same tests with similar results. After that I saw a gastroenteritis, I had more blood tests had another colonoscopy, more scans and an MRI (that’s when they found I had Crohn's Disease with a stricture on my small intestine).
The specialist trialled me on a couple of drugs (Imuran and another one that was similar) I had a reaction to both.
He told me about Humira Injections and after a lot of mucking around and 6 months later I started the injections (twice a month). Since the injections I have not looked back. My system finally seems to be working normally with the occasional (very occasional) bout of diarrhoea and that was probably due to something I ate/drank. However, I have now a pimply rash (looks like a heat rash but not) in-between and on my breasts – I noticed a couple on my neck and stomach as well. I have spoken to my doctor – he said it was from years of being in the sun and now that I am older they are coming out. (I think it could be triggered by Crohn’s disease or the Humira injection).
I went to the pharmacist and he suggested taking antihistamine. I have not started that yet, I will see how I go. Has anyone else had this problem, if so I would love to hear from you.
