Things went ok.....I guess i was kind of hoping that my CT had shown something. He said about 15 times that he wants to do a colonoscopy, lol, said without even doing a physical exam he knew i needed it......Brought tears to my eyes though when he was palpating my RLQ, GI's sure palpate harder than other doc's! LOL
He's concerned about Celiac, as i have a family history and had a positive blood test, even though my scope was negative, and also an IBD. So, my colonoscopy is in MAY!, and there's not much to do between now and then....He said eh doesn't like to treat without knowing what it is. I am on a wait list though, and they feel confident i should be able to get in within a few months. In the meantime, no more t3's, so i don't know what the heck i'm going to do for pain, (Not that they really helped much....although they did cut down on the D! LOL) and just wait it out....Boo! Again, kind of what i expected. He was very thorough, asked tons of questions about symptoms, so much so that i didn't have anything left on my list! I was pleasantly surprised, as i had read bad things online about him, and am confident he'll figure things out for me. I'm noticing that since i've been trying to back off the t3's the past week my stools are becoming significantly looser, and more frequent....6 times already today, with absolutely no substance to them, and they burn like heck! i think i prefer the big C to D! |

Glad that he seems like a good doc! Those are hard to come by. Good luck!

Welcome to Canada... appointments can be so backed up and that is a typical waiting period. Too bad you dont have any pain pills cause you may need them. Too bad he didnt do a barium follow through in the meantime. That test can help. My CT scans didnt show squat and now that I know they are dangerous to have done, I will prefer a colonoscopy. I was told when he couldnt figure it out (Crohns for many many years) he said IBS... and I tried a gluten free diet and didnt help. If you are in pain, avoid meat and chew food or hard to digest, drink Ensure to give your intestines a rest. Replace The D with water so you dont dehydrate!
Most importantly you have a good Gi by the sounds of it. Look after yourself and avoid dairy, it helps alot. Hang in there! |
