Someone else provided me with information regarding research they were apart and they asked me to share this with all of you.
An independent market research company will be conducting confidential 60 minute market research interviews with IBD patients to better understand their thoughts about their medication and what it’s like to live with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease. The client will explore how the patient’s medical condition affects their life and discuss the medications they take, the extent to which it helps them, as well as any problems that they might have. The purpose of the study is also to evaluate the patient’s experience using an enema. Feedback from these interviews will be used to help guide the development of new treatments that will better meet patient needs. This research is being conducted across five European countries and Canada. The interviews will happen in late January / early February and will be held at a location with viewing facilities in the Yonge & Sheppard area (Toronto), so that the manufacturer of medications that participants may be taking may hear their comments first hand. Alternatively, the moderator may be able to interview patients at their home or work. I would like to assure you that the participant’s identity will not be disclosed. All information gathered as part of the study will remain confidential and summarized in aggregate form; no information is ever linked to an individual. Please let me reassure you that the interview would be subject to Market Research laws and therefore all information provided by the respondents will be treated in the strictest confidence and all answers given by the group of patients interviewed will be reported back to the client in a combined form. As previously mentioned, the client is interested in viewing the research (from behind a two-way mirror or video link). All those seeing the interviews abide by the Codes of Conduct for market research. By this I mean that the participant’s confidentiality and anonymity will be respected at all times: – We will not pass the participant’s name or their contact details to the client who is viewing. (Participants do not need to provide their full name/where they live/work during the interview) – Use of the information acquired by the client during the meeting /discussion will be in accordance with the Data Protection Act – At any time during the discussion participant’s are free to leave if they feel their anonymity/confidentiality is being violated The interview will be recorded for analysis purposes ONLY. Any personal details that respondents provide will remain confidential. Once we have reported results to the client, the recording of our interview with the respondent shall be destroyed. All individuals will receive $75 - $100 immediately after participating in the session as a token of appreciation for their views and opinions. Those interested in participating may contact Andrew at Sharper Insights toll-free at 1-888-770-7742 x 222 or email him at IBD@sharperinsights.com. Andrew is a member of the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA) and adheres to its ethics, confidentiality, and privacy policies. Sharper Insights is accredited and in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

You would have had to use an enema before.

"The interviews in the UK will take place in London area either at a central facility. The client may also be able to go to them, but I’m not certain of that for the UK. Although in Toronto that will probably be an option."
