Default Skiiers/Snowboarders?

How many of you ski and/or snowboard?

I just started snowboarding this season, and I've pretty much fallen in love with it. It's a huge stress reliever, and really has helped me to build up a lot of physical strength I've lost during this year-long flare.

You go girl-good for you! I used to love skiing-that's on hold for now.

I've been skiing a few times in my life. It's so expensive though!

I use to water ski, does that count? I actually use to water ski barefooted until I fell and herniated 2 disc in my lower back. Dumb thing to do at the age of 41.

Snow skiing and snowboarding is pretty much out for me.

I'm a skiier and LOVE it. There's something about the time on the slopes that's just so... peaceful to me. Like meditative? I don't know how to explain it.

I'd love to snowboard but have no one to teach me. And I'm cheap. I own my skis, so shelling out the money to rent a snowboard is just... ugh.

ahh yes, only problem is that it is a very expensive sport =/

pirate, that sounds painful, wow!

mydecember, that's exactly what I mean, snow is so peaceful, especially when it's coming down really hard

it's made me learn to love winter, (and if you guys know anything about Buffalo's reputation for snow...you'll know it's important to be able to enjoy winter )

I'm an hour and a half away from Banff. Major ski tour industry there.

Skiing was a sport offered through school when I was growing up. Still very expensive though.

Yeh I was looking at end of season but this board has 20% off Gonna get that and then wait to end of season to buy the bindings (hoping they will be on offer as well)
Make sure you get a pair of decent boots. 1st time I went i got hired ones and they didnt fit to my feet quite right, absolute agony by day 2. Bought myself some Vans and now that theyve worn in a week of snowboarding was so much more enjoyable

Yep I'm a snowboarder. I love it but I'm not too into the jumps as I have concussion problems haha. I work at a sporting store here in B.C. and get special deals on all my stuff (wholesale minus 25%) and I bought early bird season pass so that was cheap too I also only live a couple hours from Whistler and just went up a few weeks ago now. Awesome I love it a lot especially now i can't play much hockey.

does skijoring count? My dogs are a bit untrained so its mostly a lot of yelling and untangling at this point but I talked to some people in the local skijoring club and I am going to try and get more into it with summer training this year. Then hopefully I can make some more headway on skis next winter. Its just too hard to train the dogs and me on snow all at once

I love snowboarding. I live right in the Rocky Mountains too. I am pretty close to Jasper, AB and my town will have a new triple chair lift built by this October. Yay me!
