6-TGTP

6-TGTP is one of the ribonucleotides of 6-TGN and is responsible for inducing the apoptosis of intestinal lamina propria and peripheral blood T-cell lymphocytes by inhibiting Rac-1 which is a GTPase which has been found to inhibit apoptosis.

This is what may result in the therapeutic affect of 6-MP and Azathioprine. It is also theorized that polymorphisms in 6-TGTP enzyme production may be why some patients show therapeutic levels of 6-TGN in their system but 6-MP or AZA still don't work for them.
