Borborygmus / Borborygmi

About Borborygmus (plural, Borborygmi)

Borborygmus refers to Noises from the Gastrointestinal Tract due to Gas passing through liquid material in the intestines. Can also be called Stomach Gurgling, Rumbling, or Growling.

Borborygmus can occur from multiple causes, including:
Bowel Obstruction / Intestinal Obstruction
Crohn's Disease
Diarrhea
Lactose Intolerance / Lactose Overload
Normal Bowel Sounds
Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
