Dr. David Rampton
David Rampton is Professor of Clinical Gastroenterology at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Barts and The London NHS Trust since 1989. He trained in Oxford , and later at University College and Guy's Hospitals in London . His main clinical and research interest is in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), on which he has published about 130 papers and 4 books, one of which received the British Medical Association Prize for best gastroenterology book in 2006. He has served on the research awards committees of Core (formerly Digestive Diseases Foundation) and National Association for Colitis and Crohn's disease, and on the editorial boards of Gut, Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics and World Journal of Gastroenterology. He is a Trustee of Core, has represented the British Society of Gastroenterology and Royal College of Physicians in IBD-related NICE appraisals, and is a topic lead for IBD for the National Electronic Library for Health, Gastroenterology and Liver Disease Specialist Library. He is a UK representative to the European Colitis and Crohn's Organisation.
