Dr. Anthony A Eyers
Tony Eyers studied Medicine at Sydney University, graduating in 1972. He trained in general surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and then in colorectal surgery in London and New York before taking up his position at RPAH as a Visiting Colorectal Surgeon in 1986. He is experienced in the full range of colorectal surgical procedures, including surgery for cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor disorders, providing all of these services at Macquarie University Hospital. In addition to his surgical practice, Professor Eyers has contributed to number of health-care delivery projects at local, state and federal levels. He was elected to the NSW State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is now the College's nominee to the NSW Medical Council. He has a long-standing interest in computing in surgery as well as bioethics. He sits on a number of human research ethics committees, and currently chairs the clinical ethics committee of the Sydney Local Health Network.
