Stricture and a fistula

I just wanted to ask for some advice. I have been fighting 2 strictures for a several years now. One structure is right above the anus and I have already had some of the Colon cut out. So if they cut this stricture out I will have to have a colostomy. To be honest I am not ready for that. My doctor has been dilating the stricture for a few months now. It has helped but yesterday during the colonoscopy, she found a fistula right above the structure.

Has anyone ever had this. The doctor gave me no info where the fistula was going to. She acted as if it wasn't a big deal. My first major surgery was bc of fistulas and I hear the word and freak out.

Any info would help.

Thank you,

Christal
